Finalmente Geoff Keighley anunciou ao vivo a lista com os finalistas do The Game Awards 2022. Júri e gamers já podem votar em seus jogos, streamers e produtoras favoritas. A cerimônia de anuncio e premiação dos vencedores será no dia 8 de dezembro.
No anuncio mais esperado, a dos indicados na categoria de Game do Ano (GOTY), os indicados são A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray e Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Ou seja, nenhuma surpresa. Porém, temos que destacar que foi surpreendente ver Stray com indicações em seis categorias, incluindo a de Game do Ano e Melhor Indie do Ano.
A Sony manteve-se a frente de outras produtoras com 20 indicações, seguida da Annapurna e Nintendo com 11 indicações cada.
